- Stan Justice, from 1980 through 1987, won 6 titles in 8 years; in 1982 he finished 2nd, 1:20 behind Bob Murphy and in 1983 he finished 2nd, 1:08 behind Pat Cross
- Bob Murphy holds the record for the longest time between his first win and his final (we think) win -- 16 years between his first win in 1978 and his most recent win in 1994. Had he run 6 seconds faster in 1995, he would have defeated Tony Davies, and the record would be 17 years between first and last victory. Nat Goodhue, one of the race founders, is next in this category, with 11 years between wins (1963-1974)
- Beginning in 1994, every female champion has repeated at least once: Mari Shirazi (1994-1995), Tina Devine (1996-1998), and Jane LeBlond
(1999-2001). Time will tell if that streak will continue.
- The 11 female multiple winners have accounted for the victories in more
than 2/3 of the Equinox Marathons held to date (26 of 38); Male multiple
winners have accounted for 20 of 38 victories -- slightly more than half.
